Of course, as you undertake any major trip, there are always a number of things you can worry about. The first is weather - looking ahead, it doesn't look like a great forecast for when we start our hiking - Wednesday, August 27. Oh well, I'm trying to have really low expectations so if the weather is better than 80% rain at 57 degrees, it will be a plus! :-)
The other "worry" is about the potential volcano eruption in Iceland. Not only could an eruption disrupt our travels, but our son Andrew is traveling to Iceland in early September on his way to France where he will be teaching English for a year.
I guess that whenever you attempt to step outside your comfort zone and thy something big, there are risks. We're just trying to focus on the fun and satisfaction we've had preparing for this trip and trust that all will work out.
On a positive note, we had a nice party this week with all of our boys and all the grandparents. It was a chance to say goodbye to Andrew as he prepares to travel to Paris (through Iceland) to teach for the year. We are excited that we will have a chance to see him in Geneva for two nights at the end of our trip.
