The Genesis of a Dream

We have some wonderful friends, Kris and Kevin, who are very adventuresome! They first introduced us to the idea of hiking the Walker's Haute Route in the Alps. This famous hike starts at Mont Blanc in Chamonix, France and traverses the Alps to the Matterhorn in Zermatt, Switzerland.

We've been discussing the idea for a couple of years, but finally decided this was the year to make our dream a reality.

Kevin and Kris also shared the idea with their neighbors, Tom and Chanda — now we will all be traveling to France and Switzerland to make this dream come true. Kevin, Kris, Greg, and I plan to hike the entire length of the hike which is about 115 miles. Tom and Chanda will join us in Arolla (about halfway) and complete the hike to Zermatt.
